Twilio
Call Forwarding.

Forward your Twilio number to any phone in minutes. Set a primary and backup number, roll to voicemail on no-answer, and route differently after hours, all without the Twilio Console.

On Telnyx too. Call forwarding works exactly the same on a Telnyx number, with the same primary + backup setup and the same no-code screen.

Forward to Any Phone

Send calls to a cell phone, landline, or another office line. Type the number and save. TelBuddy wires up the Twilio webhook for you.

๐Ÿ”

Primary + Backup

If the first number doesn't answer, the call rolls to a backup number, then to voicemail, so leads never hit a dead end.

Hours-Aware Routing

Forward to your team during business hours and to voicemail or a custom message after hours.

No webhooks to wire by hand

Setting up forwarding in raw Twilio means writing <Dial> TwiML and keeping voice webhook URLs correct. TelBuddy does it from one screen. Add a phone menu (IVR) in front and voicemail behind it for a complete, no-code phone system.

A few honest answers.

How do I forward calls from my Twilio number?

In TelBuddy, open the voice settings for the number and enter the phone number you want calls forwarded to. TelBuddy configures the Twilio voice webhook automatically, so incoming calls ring your chosen phone without any code or Console changes.

Can I set a backup number if the first one doesn't answer?

Yes. You can set a primary forwarding number and a backup forwarding number. If the primary doesn't pick up, the call rolls to the backup, and you can fall through to voicemail after that.

Can forwarding change based on time of day?

Yes. Combine forwarding with business-hours routing so calls ring your team during open hours and go to voicemail or a different number after hours.

The Chain

What happens, second by second.

A forwarded call is a sequence with a defined end, not a single hop that either works or does not.

Call arrives
Your carrier hands it to the routing rules for that specific number.
Primary rings
Your mobile, the front desk, or a whole team at once on a Twilio number.
No answer after your timeout
It moves to the backup number rather than giving up. You set how long to wait.
Still nobody
Voicemail, recorded and waiting in the dashboard instead of a ring-out.
The Options

Every setting, and what it is actually for.

These are the four decisions that determine whether a forwarded call feels professional or feels broken.

Setting What it does Why it matters
Primary destination Where the call goes first The obvious one, and the only one most tools offer
Backup number Where it goes on no-answer Turns a missed call into a second chance
Ring timeout How long before moving on Too short feels abrupt, too long and they hang up
Whisper message A short announcement to you before connecting Tells you which business the call is for before you speak

A missed call should never just ring out.

Every path ends somewhere deliberate: a person, a backup, or a voicemail you will actually see. That is the entire job.

Never Miss a Forwarded Call.
