Infrastructure: Rich Media & MMS

MMS and image handling
in the shared inbox

Send and receive MMS on synced Twilio or Telnyx numbers. Inbound photos and documents land in the shared team inbox with previews in the thread, so the team is not chasing raw media links. Attach images to quick-reply templates when you send the same media often.

Works the same on Telnyx too. Every inbound photo, document, or estimate gets the same automatic storage and gallery view, regardless of carrier.

Inbound Media Detected

Inbound media is stored with your account and shown in the thread.

Visual Proof Closes Deals.

In industries like Real Estate, Automotive, and Field Services, a photo is worth a thousand texts. telbuddy automates the storage and retrieval of every image sent to your Twilio or Telnyx numbers.

The MMS Advantage

  • โœ“ Template Media Support: Attach images to your "Quick Reply" templates for instant sending.
  • โœ“ Multi-User Visibility: The entire team can see incoming photos in the Shared Inbox.
  • โœ“ Carrier Compliance: Optimized for A2P 10DLC MMS throughput.
What Comes Through

Customers send pictures. Text-only tools lose them.

A photo of the broken part, the damaged panel, the model number on the back of the unit. That image is often the whole message.

๐Ÿ“ท

Photos

The damaged part, the meter reading, the thing they cannot describe on the phone.

๐Ÿ“„

Documents

A signed form or an estimate, arriving in the same thread as the conversation.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ

Screenshots

An error message or a confirmation, forwarded straight from their phone.

The Difference

Where attachments usually go to die.

Most business texting tools either strip media or bury it. Both amount to the same thing: somebody asks the customer to email it instead.

Text-only tooling

โœ• Photo arrives on one person's phone

โœ• Someone asks the customer to email it

โœ• The image lives in an inbox nobody else can see

โœ• Two weeks later nobody can find it

With MMS in the thread

โœ“ Media lands in the shared thread

โœ“ Anyone on the team can open it

โœ“ It stays attached to the conversation

โœ“ Still there when you need it again

The Limits

What the carriers actually allow.

These are network rules rather than software rules, so they apply the same way whichever provider you use.

SMS MMS
What it carries Text only Images, and documents
Typical cost Lower Higher, billed by your carrier
Size limit Per-segment character count Total file size, set by the carrier
Carrier difference None None
A2P registration Required Required, same campaign

A few honest answers.

What file types can customers send?

Images are the common case, and PDFs come through too. Carriers cap total message size, so very large files get rejected before they ever reach the dashboard rather than arriving broken.

Do photos work on both Twilio and Telnyx?

Yes, identically. MMS is one of the features with no carrier difference at all, so a number on either provider behaves the same way.

Does sending a photo cost more than a text?

Yes, MMS is billed at a higher rate than SMS by the carrier, not by us. You pay your carrier directly at their published rate.

Can the whole team see attachments?

Yes. Media lands in the shared inbox alongside the conversation, so it is not stuck on the phone of whoever happened to receive it.
